Water
AIT's DRYSCAN technology operates entirely waterless, thus reducing the pressure to compete with communities, farmers and other users for this vital resource. Water savings could amount to up to 200 litres /ton coal processed.
Thanks to the dry process, waste of a DRYSCAN plant can be disposed off without the need for potentially environmental unfriendly tailing dams.
Resources
AIT's DRYSCAN technology can assists coal mining companies to optimise yields and recovering coal from otherwise uneconomical seams or deposits.
Greenhouse Gas emissions
The increased Calorific Value of coal processed through a DRYSCAN plant could significantly improve the power station efficiency thus reducing the amount of CO2 per MWh.
AIT's DRYSCAN consumes considerably less power per ton of coal processed than traditional wash plants thus not only reducing the operating costs but also the GHG related to coal beneficiation.
The dry process reduces the GHG emissions (and costs) per GJ related to freight of the coal from mine to ultimate user.
Environmental considerations are an inherent part of AIT's product design and as a result in excess of 95% of the DRYSCAN is recyclable; wherever possible, electronic boards are RoHS compliant and operational impacts on environment during production, packaging and freight are minimised.
